This short report from PBS NewsHour's Paul Solman offers a very brief look at how Goldman Sachs makes profits. The report is quite limited in its scope, however they do acknowledge both ends of the spectrum in terms of observations on Goldman Sachs e.g. strong opponents on the one hand, and a hedge fund manager offering a more informed/neutral/supportive view. Interestingly it does point out in Goldman Sachs' financial filings that the company makes most of its money from trading, and a relatively smaller portion from traditional investment banking.
