This documentary, "I want the earth, plus 5%", takes a critical view on the process of credit creation vis a vis the modern banking system. Criticism of the monetary system is no new thing, with various people writing books and rants on the topic over the past few decades; but with public perception of banks at all time lows it's easy to see how any critical view on banking will resonate among the masses. The documentary is certainly worth a look from the perspective of understanding all sides of the argument, but many times people rush to find fault and end up putting the blame on the wrong thing. The modern monetary system may not be 'perfect' but it does a reasonably good job for most of the people most of the time. But it does have its flaws and vulnerabilities, much like alternative systems.
