Something Ventured is a documentary movie about the people who pioneered what we today call the venture capital business. These are the people who opened the gates for companies like Apple, Microsoft, Genentech, Cisco, etc. A venture capitalist needs to have the vision to see how big a company can be, the hard-nosed business acumen to figure out if the business can succeed, obviously they need capital to make it work, but they also need the connections and experience to help things on their way; and of course a venture capitalist needs to be able to take a risk, particularly when a group of entrepreneurs come along with a concept that will change everything.

Movie Trailer - Margin Call

This is the trailer for the upcoming movie, "Margin Call". The movie dramatically portrays the events during the 2008 financial crisis. Zero Hedge have said that the trailer promises to offer a much more interesting, engaging, and accurate portrayal of the events compared to the movie Wall Street 2. Personally I'm intrigued, I will definitely go see it, but it will be interesting to see whether they can balance making it accurate and factual vs entertaining and dramatic.
